Debbie Brokaw Jackson was born and raised in Ventura County, and recently moved back after almost 20 years in Oregon. While in Oregon, she served as Executive Director of a non-profit organization providing positive youth development and family-strengthening programs. She oversaw the growth of the program from its uncertain beginnings to its status today as a model in its county. During her tenure, the program developed a successful funding strategy, won an award for its teen programming, and participated in many collaborative initiatives.
Debbie is a graduate of the Ford Institute for Community Building’s Leadership Training Program, and of the Chinook Institute for Civic Leadership. She became a Community Trainer, and has delivered intensive leadership trainings to several groups of community leaders. She has facilitated sessions in strategic planning, collaboration, development, and governance for many non-profits and for family businesses.
